I wanted to do something different or Surfer here. He's kinda like Spidey in where you want to put him in poses you've always seen him in. So this was my attempt at different.

Iron Man
Up early. Scanning and fixing layouts/thumbnails. Doing some commissions, and working on Lightning Rod interior inks.
Here is an Iron Man for your eyeholes. (I think I was channeling JKP there.)

Ghost Rider
Here is a commission on 11x17 that I inked with a brush only. I love the brush I got and what kind of lines I can get out it. So free and so energetic. I just have to pair it up with the right ink. Any suggestions on that?
The finished colors where done in Manga Studio (tones) and finished in Photoshop.

Digital Warm Up - Jon Snow "The Bastard"
Following the Imp, I wanted to get right into drawing Jon Snow for some reason. Maybe because of the connection between the two characters the show tries to produce in the first season before Jon goes off to the wall. That is really my only train of thought here about wanting to sketch out Snow.
Favorite part about this sketch? It was working around the curly messy hair. A break from the neat kept hair I normally draw. Good stuff Jon, keep up the dirty fashions.

Digital Warm Up - Tyrion Lannister "The Imp"
Working out in Manga studio. I exported this as a PSD file not knowing that it would not export as layers. Anyway I thought I'd post up the little character illustration that I did today of Tyrion Lannister. I'll be warming up in Manga Studio to hopefully get myself a better grasp of working digital and working faster.
Mixing a few styles here and there for these warm ups. I used the pencil tool to sketch out the under drawing, and used the nib feature with the G nib setting to ink the piece. I think this is going to work out pretty neat. Thanks to Eric Merced and Eugene Commodore for shooting me info and everything about Manga Studio.

The three stages of Cerebus the Aardvark.
This piece was VERY fun to do. I've never been so into these water colors. It was a very lengthy process. The inks are some of my favorite. That style of inking while it takes quite a bit to complete, it's very relaxing. Tedious, but relaxing. I also think the end result just shows how much work goes into it!
I have here three different versions of this piece. You'll see the water color piece here at the left. Then below you'll find the black and white line art, as well as a digitally colored piece. I'll have to say personally my traditional colors blow my digital stuff out of the water. Looks like I'll have to learn from my traditional work and incorporate that back into the digital work. I took what I learned digitally and applied that to my traditional works... but it looks like I need to revisit my digital work theories.
If anyone is wondering if I'm taking commissions for pieces like this. I am indeed. It'll be a bit before I can get to yours as I have some other work in between. I will keep you in the loop and let you know when the commissions are started by showing step by steps via Twitter, Facebook, and email.
The pieces are $175 + $10 shipping for the U.S. and $18 for Int'l customers∞. All inquiries about these can be made at Jeremy@JeremyTreece.com
∞Additional colorations such as the digital colored piece are an additional charge.

Robin Family Tree
This was a commission from a while back. May I think it was. Finally was able to get it to where I wanted it and completed. It was done on 11x17 semi-soft Strathmore bristol (Great for inks coming off a nib or brush but eats Microns and other pigment pens for breakfast.) Then scanned it into Photoshop and colored it up. You can pick up the print version here at the store http://crisishour.bigcartel.com/product/robin-family-tree-print
Coming up next is a Fastball special (Wolverine and Colossus) and a RPG version of an X-Men character based off of Nightcrawler.
Anyone with any commission ideas please send them my way, as I'd love to work on them.
Hopefully I can get back into full swing with my commissions and streaming. Been so long I hardly knew the place... Gee it's good to be back home.

New print just in time for Detroit FanFare!
I'll be adding this print to the store soon for those that can't make it out to Detroit Fanfare this weekend to pick it up. I don't do much in the likes of DC comics art on my own. Thought maybe I would branch out a little on this one. I'll have a Robin piece here shortly as well, but not as a print. Some more prints will be added soon and if there is anything you'd like to request in the form of a print please sound off!
Here is a video from my YouTube channel that shows me laying out this piece in Sketchbook Pro.

This one is a process video of my working out the main character to the latest book I just came off of. Marvel Zombies Christmas Carol! So check it out and if you are on YouTube please subscribe! More to come week to week!

Detroit FanFare is only a week away!
Hey guys and gals! It's that time of year again. The 2nd annual Detroit FanFare is upon us. This is probably my favorite show to do as it's a home town show, and I usually have something to unveil at the show. Last year it was "Fearsome as the Night." and this year it was supposed to be "Seeds of Mourning" but the schedules keep changing, computers malfunction, and money isn't where it needs to be to fund it. So for right now Seeds is on hold. What will be there is Lisa and I, with original art, sketches, and prints. We are at table #708. If you are around come check us out, and say hey.
Also I wanted to dump a new HP image in here to keep at it!

Getting back on the horse.

These sketches were drawn and colored in Sketchbook Pro with a Wacom Cintiq 12wx. I streamed them live tonight, and if anyone wants, maybe I can start recording these little exercises and posting them up on YouTube or something as well. Please let me know if you'd be interested in something like that.
Hope you all dig and I hope to populate this blog more and more in the coming weeks!
- J.
